American Meteorological Society will have their big national convention in Seattle next week, and as part of that event they are hosting WeatherFest on Sunday.
At this free event, local organizations will have booths with interactive, informative activities for all ages!
It will be at the Washington State Convention Center, Pike and 7th in Seattle, in Ballroom 6E from 12 noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22.
A joint double booth sponsored by the King County EcoConsumer public outreach program, the King County/Seattle Public Utilities RainWise program, and the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle (ECOSS) will include fun activities, from making rain gauges to learning about ocean acidification and climate change with cabbage juice.
Other organizations with booth and activities at WeatherFest will include the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, NASA, the National Weather Service, Northwest Avalanche Center, Pacific Science Center, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, Seattle Aquarium, U.S. Geological Survey, the University of Washington Department of Atmospheric Sciences and the Washington Department of Natural Resources.
Hope to see you there!
